In these times of endless wars and suffering, especially in the Holy Land, Ukraine, and beyond, let us come together and pray for peace. The world needs more love and understanding. Let’s start with the Abrahamic faiths. People of all faiths and our fellow human beings of goodwill are encouraged to join us.
A Prayer for Peace by Pope Saint John Paul II
The Founders of our Foundation were privileged and blessed to have engaged with such an exceptional human being on multiple occasions, one who embraced the whole of mankind and encompassed the entire world. Selecting his profound prayer for peace holds considerable significance for us.
“Hear my voice, for it is the voice of the victims of all wars among individuals and nations.
Hear my voice, for it is the voice of all children who suffer and will suffer when people put their faith in weapons and war.
Hear my voice when I beg you to install into the hearts of all human beings the wisdom of peace, the strength of justice, and the joy of fellowship.
Hear my voice, for I speak for the multitudes in every country and in every period of history who do not want war and are ready to walk the road of peace.
Hear my voice and grant insight and strength so that we may always respond to hatred with love, to injustice with total dedication to justice, to need with sharing of self, to war with peace.
O God, hear my voice and grant unto the world Your everlasting peace.
Amen.”
An Islamic prayer for Peace
U.N. Day of Prayer for World Peace
“ In the Name of Allah, the beneficient, the merciful. Praise be to the Lord of the Universe
Who has created us and made us into tribes and nations that we may know each other,
Not that we may despise each other.
If the enemy inclines towards peace, do thou also incline towards peace, and trust in God,
For the Lord is one that hears and knows all things. And the servants of God Most Gracious are those who walk on the Earth in humility,
And when we address them, we say, ‘Peace’
A Time for Everything
From Qoheleth, part of the eleven books of Ketuvim in the Hebrew Bible. The text can also be found in Ecclesiastes in the Christian Old Testament.
“There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace “
At His Excellency Dr. Ghoulem Berrah Foundation, we pray that the time for peace arrives now, with no delay.
