On Presidents’ Day, February 16, 2026, we executed the second phase of His Excellency Dr. Ghoulem Berrah Foundation’s program for this year, which entailed a visit to a Mosque. The third phase includes a visit to a Synagogue, and the fourth phase involves attending a Mass together.
A group of three Christian teenagers was warmly greeted at Masjid Miami Gardens by Board Member and Professor Dr. Abdul Samra, the Masjid’s Imam. Two adolescent girls of the Islamic faith happily joined them, sharing in the experience. Unfortunately, we couldn’t include our Jewish friends this time, but we look forward to welcoming them in future gatherings.
The group watched the Faithful praying the Dhur prayer, the midday prayer led by Imam Samra. Afterward, he sat with us and explained the principles of Islam. He then submitted himself to a Q&A session with the youth. It was quite a captivating moment. They were happy to learn and grateful for the experience.
Two days later, on February 18, Ramadan and Lent began on the same day, marking for the Faithful of both Faiths a time of Fasting, prayer, and Almsgiving to draw closer to the Almighty. We are walking together; we respect our differences, yet we share the same love of God and love of our neighbor.
Ramadan Moubarak to our Muslim brothers and sisters.
Happy Lenten Season to our Christian brothers and sisters.
May our walk be fruitful.
